Breathe On Me

Breathe on Me

Floating on the waters off Little Tybee,
buoyed effortlessly by the saltwater,
I bask in the warm stillness of the August sun above
and in the cool rhythm of the waves underneath.
Muffled sounds of distant boat engines
suggest I am not alone in my revelry.
In this moment, time ceases to exist.
For the first time ever,
I know what it means to be present.
