Finding Our Way

Finding Our Way

In the murkiness of life’s greatest challenges
black ink meanders aimlessly across the page.
Once saturated with purposeless blackness,
images start to appear.
An elephant for memories to cherish,
a beloved dog-child now gone,
a woman in mourning.
But there’s more.
A hummingbird of hope,
a dove skimming on the water just because it can,
a warm smile of sunshine centerfold,
and a phoenix for transformation.
May we hold the past and the present,
strength forged in the darkness
making true colors even brighter
as we continue
finding our way.
